Using a Content Delivery Network (CDN) will allow site images and assets (JSS and CSS) to be served from the CDN Point of Presence nearest to the customer. This will improve load times for your site. Managed WordPress and Managed WooCommerce sites plans include the Nexcess CDN.
On new install sites, the CDN Enabler plugin is automatically installed but not activated.
Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
From the admin panel, select Plugins > Add New.
In the Search plugins field, enter “CDN Enabler.” In the CDN Enabler section, click Install Now. If the CDN Enabler plugin is already installed on the site then you will not need to have to install you can just activate it.
When the installation completes, click Activate.
From your WordPress admin panel, select Settings > CDN Enabler.
In the CDN URL text box, type your origin CDN URL. For example, https://eadn-wc01-693205.nxedge.io/cdn.
You can find the CDN URL info in the portal in the Content Delivery Network section, which is in the performance tab. You will need to enable the Nexcess CDN in order to be able to use it.
Click on the Enable CDN toggle and follow the steps to enable the CDN for your site. As long as the CDN Enabler plugin is active before the Nexcess CDN is enabled in the portal the CDN origin URL settings in CDN Enabler plugin will be automatically updated.
If you are using the Nexcess CDN on a live domain that matches the site domain set in the site plan, then you could enable HTTPS for the CDN in the CDN Enabler plugin settings. By default, Enable CDN HTTPS setting is not enabled in the CDN Enabler plugin. Do not enable CDN HTTPS if you are on a temp domain.Click Save Changes.
If you are using the Autoptimize plugin on your site, you will need to update the CDN Base URL in the plugin settings. This allows Autoptimize to serve minified CSS and JS from the CDN.
From your WordPress admin panel, select Settings > Autoptimize.
In the CDN Base URL text box, type your CDN origin URL.
Click Save Changes and Empty Cache.
